This role will manage the translation of marketing, decorative, and environmental design ideas into finished products. Products may include; trade show and marketing displays, themed spaces in ETC’s locations in Wisconsin and across the world, creative environments for ETC’s work force, and other imaginative projects! Most projects include high specification custom and unique finishes. Projects will be constructed in our in-house, state-of-the-art fabrication facility that includes CNC woodworking equipment and complete metal fabrication capabilities. The Technical Directions Manager will work companywide to obtain and schedule all resources required to complete internal projects in a timely fashion.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre and at least 5 years experience in increasingly responsible positions within theatrical construction and technical theatre • Experience supervising part-time and temporary crews • Tradeshow and Exhibit experience preferred • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Strong attention to detail • Motivation and leadership skills • Proficiency in CAD drafting (AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks) and design programs are required. Solidworks proficiency preferred. SketchUp competency would be a plus • Proficiency in theatrical construction techniques and metal fabrication are required. Candidates should have the ability to work creatively and effectively in all traditional materials • Familiarity with a wide range of surface treatments and finishes. Many projects require high detail finish work • Competency in computer aided fabrication is preferred
