Lex Products has an opportunity for a professional Territory Sales Manager who can implement and consistently execute sales campaigns within a targeted sales region. This is a great opportunity for an effective communicator to utilize their sales skills while presenting Lex Products to a diverse range of end users within and outside of the entertainment market.
This position will report into our Sun Valley, CA office. The ideal candidate will reside somewhere in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the position’s essential job duties including: • Conduct customer visits to further relationships and sales with key accounts. • Meet the metrics and goals established for this role. • Serve as a trusted advisor for customers and perspective customers in all facets of our business combining business acumen best practices and technical knowledge. • Promote new products and company initiatives in partnership with Lex Marketing to customers, consultants and end users. • Conduct customer engagement activities including in person and web-based meetings, presentations, phone calls and other interactive resources. • Work collaboratively with the partnered territory inside sales representative, other territory managers and other inside sales colleagues on prospecting and closing sales efforts. • Participate in training and trade shows as assigned. • Maintain timely and accurate reports on territory sales pipeline detailing new and existing opportunities from lead development through closing. Communicate reports and activities as directed by senior managers. • Provide accurate and required expense reports per company accounting and expense reimbursement policies. • Maintain a current, valid driver license and clean driving record as determined by Lex Products. • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Education - BS/BA preferred. Minimum of 5 years outside sales experience preferred. • Technical Skills – Ability to assess own strengths and weaknesses. Pursue additional training and development opportunities and share experiences with others. Experience in permanent and portable electrical power distribution required. An understanding of film, studio and entertainment electrics is preferred. • Professionalism – Follows through on commitments, treats others with respect, approaches work relationships in a tactful and professional manner. • Sales Skills – a strong desire to satisfy customer requirements and create business. The ability to sell what is needed as compared to what is wanted. Must be a self-motivator. Ability to close the deal is a must. The ability to demonstrate the products in an effective manner while addressing any concerns which may be brought up. • Negotiation skills – Ability to achieve desired outcome for the mutual benefit of Lex and our customers. • Motivation – Self-motivated with a desire to get the job done. Set and achieve personal and corporate goals and measures oneself against a standard of excellence. Results driven. • Problem Solving – Ability to think on your feet in resolving issues which arise during sales calls, demonstrations, and throughout the sales process. Ability to read and write technical documents and interpret written information. • Presentation skills - Presenting information clearly and effectively key skill to get message across. Ability to know your audience and influence them is required. • Organizational skills – Organized manner in developing and executing sales plans, effectively visiting customers within the territory, paperwork requirements, etc. • Innovation – Ability to bring new thoughts and ideas to the appropriate departments. Displays original thoughts and creativity. Meets any challenge with resourcefulness. Not afraid to suggest ideas to improve work production, products, policies, procedures, etc. • Interpersonal skills – Ability to maintain good working relationships. • Computer skills – Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite; including Excel and PowerPoint. • Math skills – Solid math skills to include working with percentages and performing calculations is required
