A full time position running the rigging department, inclusive of quotations, fabrication, installation supervision, and installation of manual and motorized rigging, curtains, tracks, grids and the inspections of systems.
Problem solving, communication, mathematic calculations, ability to read and interpret documents, generate documents and reports with an attention to detail and accurate record keeping, basic knowledge of Office and CAD, ability to manage time on personal and supervisory level, ability to meet deadlines, and to maintain and educate current and potential rigging clients.
Oversee the rigging department at all project phases, bidding of rigging projects, assembly of information for bids, managing rigging projects and their installation, assembling project submittals and close out documentation, performing inspections, generating reports and documentation, overseeing department safety, achieving and maintaining a ETCP Certification, continuing education and training, and assisting with other duties as available.
Hours not limited 8am-5pm, some weekend and evening required as necessary, Conditionsability to climb and work at heights of 40’+ as needed, ability to travel as needed, and to be able to lift over 75 lbs.
Required: Understanding of counterweight rigging systems
BA or BFA with emphasis on technical theatre Understanding of motorized rigging systems
Must either have or be on track for ETCP certification. Valid Driver’s license and insurance
Minimum of three years working in technical theatre field
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret diverse instructions furnished in various forms including verbal, written, blueprints, and drawings. Ability to calculate figures, proportions and apply basic concepts of algebra, geometry and physics as they relate to load bearing concepts, calculations and forces. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation, installation, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as to write reports, quotes and correspondence. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software. Ability to manage time on a personal and supervisory level; and to meet project specific deadlines. Ability to maintain and educate current rigging clients and to assist in the development and education of new rigging clients.
